Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. This ability that helped her get her first job as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was then hired to the CBS station to work as the sports reporter. Then she moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues as well as drug trafficking and various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as the Spanish reporter on the newscast from 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter for the newscast at 9 p.m. in English and again also a Spanish reporter at 10 p.m. Also, she would fill in on occasion as a weather and sport anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The same job was held for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985 in Mexico City. She has a sister. There is an older sibling. Then, shortly afterward, her parents separated and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, younger Collins was able to take a job along with her sister. Still a senior in high school but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue with her life Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. She finished school and went to the university with a media studies major. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a member. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
